The Associate of Arts degree in Accounting is designed to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a variety of business settings. The Associate of Arts Degree in Paraprofessional Education provides students with the knowledge and the skills that will enable them to become effective paraprofessionals in an elementary school classroom or teachers in a Head Start or private program. It integrates theory with practice as it addresses major topics that impact teaching; i.e., historical and philosophical contexts for contemporary educational approaches and issues; the nature of child development; and the professional and classroom tasks encountered in teaching. Bachelor of Science in Business - Administration
The Bachelor of Science in Business/Administration (BSB/A) program is designed for the working professional employed in a business or public organization.
The Required Course of Study is designed to enable graduates to deal effectively with an increasingly complex business environment. The program stresses skill development in the areas of management, decision-making, financial accounting and managerial finance, quantitative analysis, economics, marketing and utilization of research findings.
Bachelor of Science in Business - Marketing
Marketing managers need creative, analytical, and leadership abilities to manage the marketing function of the business enterprise. The Marketing Major addresses how to identify customer needs, how to communicate information about products and services to customers and potential customers, where to market and how to price products and services, and how to respond to growing demands in different countries and cultures.
The marketing major includes a foundational marketing course upon which further study in the areas of buyer behavior, advertising, marketing research, and international marketing is based.
Associate of Arts in Information Technology/Networking
This program will provide the student foundational knowledge of the major facets of networking technologies. Available within this program are realistic simulations, plus remote access to real hardware and software commonly used in the IT industry. These exercises help the student learn key networking concepts. At the student’s option, this program also provides the students a roadmap and online tools to aid them in gaining Microsoft® certifications. Total credits required for degree program completion: 60 credits.
Associate of Arts in Information Technology/Visual Communication
The Visual Communications program provides an overview of visual design elements to be implemented within a business framework. Topics within this program include visual design elements such as composition and style, use of color, textures, integration and manipulation of graphics images, photographic re-touching and text/font design. Fundamentals and basic web programming will also be covered. A graduate of this program will have design skills useful in business areas such as marketing, web design or training.
Bachelor of Science in Business - e-Business
The Bachelor of Science in Business program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. The BSB entry sequence exposes students to valuable theoretical knowledge and best practices in the areas of management, organizational behavior, research and evaluation, e-business, and critical thinking and problem solving. In all BSB program coursework, the curriculum addresses critical business issues in the areas of diversity, globalization, ethics, technology, and e-business.
The e-business major is designed to help the student acquire theory, skills, and values associated with a business environment that has an increasing dependence on Internet technology. The focus of the curriculum is business with an emphasis in e-business. Completion of the BSB/EB can be used to enhance career growth or as a segue into a graduate program.
In addition to the BSB business entry coursework, the e-business major includes coursework in economics, computers and information processing, financial analysis, business law, marketing, business information system development, project management, the Web, and e-business.
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program is focused on the acquisition of theory and technical competencies associated with the information technology profession. The courses provide fundamental knowledge and application in both the information systems function and in system development. The curriculum is designed to produce graduates ready to function in information technology positions with the competencies, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in the workplace. The BSIT is the basis for career growth or the basis for a graduate program. The program/course objectives and competencies have been benchmarked against several external guidelines. The Master of Business Administration/Health Care Management program is designed to enhance the management skills students need to function effectively within a health care organization. School Nurse Certificate
This 24 semester credit School Nurse Certification Program has been specially designed to provide educational content leading towards a School Nurse Certification. The purpose of this program is to enhance the quality of school health programs through leadership and care of children. Content will include the role of the school nurse, care delivery, community education, and law and ethics related to school nurse practice. The program has been designed to meet state and national school nurse practice standards.
Master of Arts in Education, Early Childhood Education
The College of Education is within the Artemis School and offers graduate level degree and non-degree courses for educators. The Master of Arts in Education is the graduate degree program offered through the College of Education. Graduate non-degree programming includes several state specific certificates/endorsements.
